Cars New entry

£245,000. 1,060 HORSEPOWER. PERFECT FOR SITTING BEHIND A TRACTOR.

Someone spent over £165,000 making a Porsche even faster. Nobody told the tractors.

£245,000. 1,060 HORSEPOWER. PERFECT FOR SITTING BEHIND A TRACTOR.

There are fast cars. There are very fast cars. And then there's this. A 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo S, finished in Voodoo Blue, producing an utterly ridiculous 1,060 horsepower, is for sale at Cotswold Car Hub near Malmesbury for £245,000. To put that into perspective, a standard Porsche 911 Turbo S already produces around 650 horsepower. Which most people would consider quite sufficient for popping to Waitrose. But apparently somebody disagreed. They spent more than £165,000 on modifications, including TechArt upgrades, ES Motor tuning, methanol injection, a titanium exhaust and enough carbon fibre to worry the aviation industry. The result is a Porsche with the sort of performance normally reserved for things taking off from RAF Brize Norton. And where is this magnificent engineering achievement being sold? The Cotswolds. A place where your average journey involves a narrow lane, a horse rider, three cyclists and a tractor driven by a man called Nigel who has absolutely nowhere urgent to be. Harriet: "Why does it need 1,060 horsepower?" Dad: "It doesn't." Harriet: "Then why would anyone buy it?" Dad: "Because it's brilliant." Harriet: "You said that about the last car." Dad: "Moving on." With just over 14,000 miles recorded, this particular Porsche has clearly spent considerably more time being admired than collecting the weekly shopping. And at £245,000, it represents a remarkable opportunity to own one of the most unnecessarily powerful cars available in the Cotswolds. The tractor, naturally, remains unimpressed.

Why it's ridiculous

Because somebody took a Porsche 911 Turbo S — already one of the fastest road cars money can buy — and spent over £165,000 making it even faster. It now produces 1,060 horsepower. That's enough power to make a Lamborghini nervous, a Ferrari reconsider its life choices and a Cotswolds tractor remain completely indifferent. For £245,000, you can own an extraordinary piece of automotive engineering capable of astonishing performance. And then spend your Sunday afternoon doing 22mph behind a Massey Ferguson.

Dad's verdict

100

Bloody love it. ,1060 horsepower, Voodoo Blue, a titanium exhaust and completely unnecessary levels of engineering. I absolutely love it. Do I need it? No. Would I buy it? Obviously. Just don't tell Mummy.

Harriet's verdict

It's £245,000, has more than a thousand horsepower and still can't get past a tractor. Dad thinks it's amazing. I think somebody has spent a lot of money making a traffic jam louder. If it was pink I would give it 100!

So cool daddy, can we get one

£245,000 buys you 1,060 horsepower. Unfortunately, it doesn't buy you a way past Nigel and his tractor
