A Tree House, A Helicopter , Cheese, Wine & Mummy
4500
Daddy's avoiding the big Cotswolds hotels completely. He's taking Mummy by private helicopter from Deddington to a secluded luxury treehouse near Tetbury. The Tree House has a log burner, freestanding bath, outdoor shower, wraparound deck and private countryside around it. Dinner isn't Michelin-starred. It's Camembert melted by the fire, a proper French stick, cranberry sauce and a ridiculously good bottle of red wine. Then absolutely nothing. No restaurant. No spa. No schedule. No children. “Harriet invited all her friends. I invited one person. If I've got £5,000, I don't want another posh hotel and a tasting menu. I want to pick Mummy up in Deddington in a helicopter, disappear to a treehouse, light the fire, melt some Camembert, open a completely irresponsible bottle of red and not have to be anywhere until the next morning.” Dad says “Five grand to sit in a tree eating melted cheese with Mummy. Money well spent.”
